Dr. V. Padmavathi serves as an Associate Professor and Head of the Humanities and Sciences (H&S) Department. She holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry specializing in Natural Products from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh. Her academic journey includes a Master of Sciences from Andhra University and a Bachelor’s degree from the same institution.
With 17 years of teaching experience and a year in the industrial sector, Dr. Padmavathi has established herself as a prolific researcher. She boasts a portfolio of over 29 research papers published in esteemed international and national journals, alongside 4 international book chapters. Additionally, she has presented her research findings in 37 international and national conferences, while actively participating in over 60 webinars, FDP’s, workshops. She is also sought after for her expertise, having delivered numerous guest lectures within and beyond her college.
Her research interests encompass Natural Products, Synthesis of Drug Molecules, and Drug Discovery and Design, Computational chemistry. Her dedication to teaching has been recognized through awards such as the Best Teacher Award from ITAP-2019 and the Special Jury Award for Best Teacher from ITAP-2018. In 2018, she was honoured as an OUTSTANDING FACULTY IN SCIENCE at the Venus International Faculty Awards-VIFA.
Dr. Padmavathi’s contributions to science extend beyond academia, earning her the title of “Science Legend” from Dr. Najma Heptulla, Hon’ble Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Govt. of India in 2015. She has also been recognized with a Young Scientist Award from the Indian Youth Science Congress, awarded by the MS Swaminathan Trust. Her accolades include the First Best Oral Presentation Award from RBVRR College Hyderabad in 2015, the Best Presentation Award at the International Symposium on Nature-Inspired Initiatives in Chemical Trends [NIICT-2014] held at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, and the Best Oral Presentation Award at the International Conference on Drug Designing and Discovery [DDD-2013] in Kolhapur.
It’s impressive that Dr. Padmavathi has been involved in co-supervising MSc, MPhil students specifically in the field of natural products. This suggests a strong dedication to both research and mentorship within this specialized domain.
Dr. Padmavathi holds Life memberships in prestigious organizations such as the Indian Council of Chemists, AP Science Congress, Indian Science Congress, and World Science Congress.
