Academic Core Committee

Key Functions:

  • The Academic Core Committee allocates the subjects based on the area of expertise of the faculty and their teaching experience. The faculty members are encouraged to attend refresher courses in case of requirement/need.
  • Gap analysis is performed and appropriate measures are taken to achieve maximum outcome for the course.
  • Course delivery is continuously monitored.
  • Periodic feedback is considered for taking corrective measures.
  • Student academic reviews are monitored.
  • The AcademicCoreCommittee then follows the process used to identify the extent of compliance with the university curriculum for attaining the POs and PSOs. The process is broadly divided into 2 categories as mentioned below and also attributes of NBA like POs, PSOs, PEOs, COs, etc. are considered.
    • Direct Assessment
    • Indirect Assessment

Roles and responsibilities:

  • The academic Core Committee collects the data from course coordinators and approves the proposed mapping.
  • The mapping of the course’s verses PO/PSO is consolidated.
  • By collecting information in the form of Alumni Survey reports, Exiting Students Survey reports, and senior academician survey reports, the advisory committee analyzes the information along with the consolidated PO/PSO mapping and identifies the gap in the curriculum. 
  • The identified gaps are communicated to the academic core committee which is communicated to the Head of the department after review.
  • After review, the Head of the department finalizes the curriculum gaps and communicates them to the academic core committee.

A thorough study of the GAP analysis is done to implement the corrective measures.
